2012 VIDEO

I FINALLY FINISHED

detailing the new tombstones I purchased at the Mid-West Haunters Convention this year.

Now I feel a little guilty that I bought them from WoodLoom www.woodloom.com , but when you have a full time job, a wife and two kids….Your limited to your time.

 

 

WoodLoom engraved the lettering and carved out the shapes of the tombstones, but I had to age them with the cracks and paint them.

 

 

I think they turned out pretty good; I can’t wait to add them to my cemetery!!!

OUR HOUSE REALLY STARTS TO

come alive once I start setting up my fencing and pillars. Everyone in the neighborhood seems to know that Halloween is fast approaching when we start building our Haunt!!!

It gives me such pleasure to know that so many people in our community look forward to our annual event.

 



But best part of all...Donations raised go towards children undergoing treatment at Sick Kids Hospital. Since they can’t leave the hospital, a portion of our fund provides these kids with costumes and Halloween candy to encourage the holiday spirit.

 

 

LET THE BUILDING BEGIN

I had fun with my boys setting up our TWHH banner onto the fence today.

The 2012 Halloween Season has officially started at our house...wait a minute, I need to correct myself. It's Halloween 365 days a year at our house, our building has officially begun!!!

I took my boys to a local Pumpkin patch to get an early start on decorating the house for Halloween.

 

 Of course they had to each pick their own...

I enjoyed spending time last weekend with my family filming my 2012 Teaser Video.

I ENJOY SUPPORTING LOCAL FARMERS

and getting an early start on Halloween!

My family and I decided to film a new teaser video this weekend for the 2012 Halloween Season.

So I stopped by a local farm and picked up a beautiful Pumpkin...along with some Corn, Strawberries, Raspberries and some plums.

My son Ryan help me carve out our first Pumpkin of the year and prepare it for our video shoot.

Nothing goes to waste, we made Pumpkin Soup and baked the Pumpkin Seeds in the oven.

Mmmmmmm...Nothing like home cooking.

This was the Ghoulish little creation we carved up earlier in the day. We waited for it to get dark outside and started filming around 9:00 PM and didn't finish until 10:30 PM.

We had many people both walking and driving past our house with the look of shock, confusion, disbelief and WTF on their faces. Ahhh...the life of a Home Haunter!!!

Like I've always said...It's Halloween 365 days a year in our house. Stay tuned, I'll have future posts on our 2012 Teaser Video.

LOOKING FORWARD

It's an amazing haunters convention for networking, education from the haunt industry leaders, seminars, attraction tours to professional haunted houses and my personal favorite, the tradeshow.

I'm feeling like a little kid on Halloween night because I'm getting my set before everyone else. Now I'd like to say it's because I have connections with Chris & Jeff, but that's not the case.

It's because I was asked to be a judge this year, Thornhill Woods Haunted House won last year in the Haunters Video Awards for " Best Video Production". So I was asked to be a judge for the 2011 video awards and I couldn't have be more honoured.

I HAD A BLAST

filming my 2012 TWHH Teaser Trailer Video yesterday with family and friends.

I rented a professional studio and had my friend Jeff Chatten from Horrors Unlimited (Horror Media) film for the entire day and into the evening. We had Neil Morrill & Stew (Make-up Artist Teachers) from Completions International ...Academy of Make-up Artistry do all the make-up on Steven Amidjinov and my niece Megan Ainsworth (Actors), and my friend Paul Hopkins from (Boneyard Bargins) did an amazing job helping out with everything.

I don't want to give away to much information on my future trailer, but we filmed on a green screen on top of a 3 foot platform (All built by Jeff). My niece Megan was pulled into the ground by a Zombie...now we have to wait for the weather outside to get warmer to finish the filming.

I can’t wait to see how everything turns out after Jeff finishes editing everything.

I would like to personally thank Kevin Wood for putting together this Annual Contest and all the Judges for their countless hours of video viewing to select this years winners.

It was exciting to have been able to participate with so many other creative Home Haunters; I really enjoyed watching everyone else’s videos.
